I began working with lakes when they approached me with a request for a championship t-shirt design. However, it quickly transformed into a comprehensive
re-branding endeavor. I undertook the task of crafting a fresh and modern logo, in addition to designing two t-shirts.

Behind the Design
The Lakes logo was created with the goal of capturing the essence of a high-end competitive traveling volleyball team. The design exudes strength, modernity, and an energetic athletic aesthetic that perfectly aligns with the brand's identity. The slanted typeface was chosen to create a dynamic sense of action and movement, while the use of slab serifs added a traditional athletic look, adding a touch of timeless appeal. The end result is a powerful and elevated logo that showcases Lakes Volleyball's commitment to excellence and its status as a top-tier team in the industry.
"KILL THE CHILL" EVENT T-SHIRT
I had the opportunity to create a visual representation of the yearly "Kill the Chill" volleyball tournament hosted by Lakes Volleyball Club. This event, held in the chilly month of February here in Minnesota, brings together teams from all over Minnesota who are not deterred by the chilly weather!
The name itself, "Kill the Chill," is a play on words that combines the idea of cold weather with the energetic nature of volleyball plays. Inspired by this clever concept, I set out to design a t-shirt that would effectively capture the essence of the event.
In my design, I aimed to visually portray both the cold weather and the passion for volleyball. To achieve this, I incorporated elements that represented the wintry atmosphere, while also showcasing the dynamism and excitement of the sport. By combining these elements, I was able to create a design that perfectly balanced the two aspects.
The Championship graphic T-shirt is the design that was given out to the winners of the Kill the Chill Volleyball tournament.
